Jonathan Sabag has a BA (Summa Cum Laude) in Government Diplomacy and Strategy from the Interdisciplinary Center in Hertzelia, Israel and an MA in Administration and Public Policy (Executive Program) from Tel Aviv University (Summa Cum Laude). He is a certified Mediator with additional courses in Legal Skills Training and the "Adizes" Methodology for Management from the Israel Management Center.
He served in the Israeli Defense Forces as a Chief of Staff, Deputy Head of the Planning Directorate and Chief of Staff, Deputy National Security Advisors for Defense & Foreign Affairs at the National Security Council in the Office of the Prime Minister.
After military service, Jonathan was advisor to the Minister of Transportation and Road Safety - Dr. Efraim Sneh where he advised on municipal and security issues.
He served as Assistant to the Chairperson of the Yitzchak Rabin Center (Mrs. Dalia Rabin).
Jonathan returned as Senior Professional Advisor to the Minister of Transport, National Infrastructure and Road Safety - Lt. Gen (ret.) Shaul Mofaz. His responsibilities included coordination between Minister and Director General of the Ministry, coordination between Minister and various governmental agencies and government owned companies, coordination of staff work, and follow-up on ministerial decisions and progress on major projects costing millions of NIS per year.
For 3 and-a-half years before he arrived in the U.S., Mr. Sabag was the Executive Assistant to the CEO of the Israel Ports Company Ltd. (a governmental company). His responsibilities included coordinating company activities, coordination of strategic projects spanning multiple divisions and external parties/consultants, preparation of work program and annual budget, periodic follow-up and control of projects, responsibility for regulatory issues, coordination with governmental officials (Prime Minister’s Office, Finance Ministry, Transport Ministry, the Knesset, etc.), and participation in complex negotiations regarding corporate activities.
While at Israel Ports Company Ltd. as Executive Assistant to the CEO, he also functioned as the Corporate Secretary for Amerillis Ltd. (a subsidiary of Israel Ports Company). Responsibilities included coordination and management of staff and Board activities, participation in strategic planning regarding business development and marketing activities, and was responsible for regulatory issues.
In his current position as Director of Israel Affairs at JINSA, Jonathan is dealing with variety of projects and he serves as the organization’s liaison for activities in Israel.
