Charalambos Petrides

Defense Minister Petrides was born in Nicosia, Cyprus in 1974. In June of 2020 he was appointed as Minister of Defense by the President of the Republic of Cyprus. He has served as the Mayor of the Municipality of Aglantzia, Nicosia from 2016 to 2020 and as the President of the Cyprus Land Development Corporation from 2013 to 2016. He undertook his military service from 1993 to 1995 in the Air Force.

Michael Makovsky, PhD

Michael Makovsky is President and CEO of the Jewish Institute for National Security of America (JINSA), which he joined in 2013. A U.S. national security expert, he has worked extensively on U.S. policy toward Iran’s nuclear program, Israel, and the broader Middle East, as well as the intersection of international energy markets and politics with U.S. national security
