<p>What are the choices America faces in Iraq and Afghanistan? Do we pursue victory or do we leave as soon as possible? Is Iraq in fact &#8220;a war of choice&#8221; and a terrible mistake? Is Afghanistan, although linked to 9/11, a war not worth pursuing?</p>

<p>What are the choices America faces in Iraq and Afghanistan? Do we pursue victory or do we leave as soon as possible? Is Iraq in fact &#8220;a war of choice&#8221; and a terrible mistake? Is Afghanistan, although linked to 9/11, a war not worth pursuing?</p>
<p>I am going to argue today that we are facing mortal enemies that seek our destruction. Our enemies are states such as Iran, Syria, and Venezuela; they are allies or subsidiaries of those states&#8211; such as Hezbollah, FARC, Al Qaeda, the Taliban, and Hamas; and their many accomplices, strategically located in state entities in Russia, China, North Korea, Cuba, and Pakistan, such as the ISI.</p>
