Founded in the wake of 9/11, JINSA’s Homeland Security Program organizes annual law enforcement exchanges between senior U.S. law enforcement executives and the Israel National Police in order to strengthen U.S. homeland security. On these exchange programs – trips to Israel and conferences in the U.S.–American officers learn effective methods and techniques to prevent and respond to terrorism from the world’s foremost experts. In recent months, anti-Israel and pro-BDS organizations have stepped up an aggressive campaign of falsehoods and misinformation with the goal of having these exchanges banned. Join JINSA Director of Homeland Security Programs Steven Pomerantz and three leading law enforcement professionals who participated in JINSA’s Homeland Security Program for a discussion on why these programs are important to keeping America safe and why the campaign to ban them must be countered. |

Chief Kenneth Berkowitz (Canton, MA) Chief of Police Kenneth Berkowitz joined the Canton Police Department in 1992 as a patrolman and was appointed the thirteenth chief of the Canton Police Department in 2005. Chief Berkowitz was a 2019 JINSA Homeland Security Program participant. |
Sheriff Peter Koutoujian (Middlesex County, MA) Sheriff Peter J. Koutoujian has served as Sheriff of Middlesex County for 8 years. On January 1, 2020, he became President of Major County Sheriffs of America, representing sheriffs from the most populous counties in the nation. Sherrif Koutoujan was a 2019 JINSA Homeland Security Program participant. |
Steven L. Pomerantz Steven L. Pomerantz is Director of the Homeland Security Program at JINSA and former Assistant Director of the FBI. Mr. Pomerantz is an expert in the area of terrorism as well as criminal justice information. |
