An Army Ranger who grew up on Cape Cod was recently presented with an award for his military service in the “war on terrorism.”

At its annual dinner Dec. 2 in Washington, D.C., the Jewish Institute for National Security Affairs presented 1st Lt. Robert Heber Jr. with its “Grateful Nation Award” for his “extraordinary service in the war on terrorism,” according to a statement from the organization.

An Army Ranger who grew up on Cape Cod was recently presented with an award for his military service in the “war on terrorism.”

At its annual dinner Dec. 2 in Washington, D.C., the Jewish Institute for National Security Affairs presented 1st Lt. Robert Heber Jr. with its “Grateful Nation Award” for his “extraordinary service in the war on terrorism,” according to a statement from the organization.

“Lt. Heber is an amazing soldier and a true American hero,” Jamie Cetrone, JINSA’s director of communications, wrote in an email Thursday.

“He has done some very amazing things for the security of this country.”
