Iran Expert Berman Briefs JINSA on What’s Happening Inside Iran

On July 7, Ilan Berman, vice president for policy at the American Foreign Policy Council in Washington, D.C., briefed a private audience of JINSA members on the troubling situation inside Iran. Berman is an expert on regional security in the Middle East, Central Asia, and the Russian Federation. He has consulted for both the Central Intelligence Agency and the Pentagon, and provided assistance on foreign policy and national security issues to a range of governmental agencies and congressional offices.

He has consulted for both the Central Intelligence Agency and the Pentagon, and provided assistance on foreign policy and national security issues to a range of governmental agencies and congressional offices. His latest book, Winning the Long War: Retaking the Offensive Against Radical Islam, was published by Rowman & Littlefield in July 2009. Berman spoke about the recent fraudulent election in Iran on June 12 and the implications it will have on Iranian domestic politics, the future of Iran’s nuclear and ballistic missile programs, and the direction of United States foreign policy towards the country under President Obama.
