Hey CNN, Those are OUR Flags They’re Burning and Other Thoughts

1. Palestinian rioters burning Israeli flags are a common sight on American television. Less often, in fact almost never, do we see Palestinian demonstrators burning AMERICAN flags. But they do. All the time. To check out photographs you should be seeing in the media but aren’t, including burning flags and Palestinians pointing their AK-47s at posters of President Clinton, log onto www.rotter.net/israel/.

Palestinian anti-Americanism is not new. The PLO has been in bed ideologically with practically every enemy of the West starting in the 1960s. From their early funders (the Soviets, the Stasi, the Bulgarian secret police), through those they trained in Lebanon (the Bader Meinhof, the Red Brigades, the Japanese Red Army and a variety of Central and South American terrorists), and continuing through Saddam and the Iranian Mullahs, it is hard to find a friend of theirs who is a friend of our. In fact, it is hard to find a place where American and Palestinian interests intersect. Maybe CNN doesn’t think that is a story, but we do.

2. After a month of orchestrated Palestinian violence, Israel’s Central Command reports the following totals (courtesy of Israelwire): There were over 3,200 recorded attacks by Palestinians against Israelis, including 600 shooting attacks, 1,397 firebomb attacks and 26 attacks involving explosive devices. The result has been 184 Israelis injured and 12 Israelis killed.

There are 10,000 IDF forces deployed in the territories, all in places AGREED TO BY THE PA IN THE COURSE OF VARIOUS AGREEMENTS SIGNED WITH THE GOVERNMENT OF ISRAEL. While it is true that more Palestinians than Israelis have been killed and injured, this appears to be the result of Israel”s determination to protect Israelis, juxtaposed against the Palestinian willingness to incur casualties, particularly among children, for PR purposes.

In addition, the IDF has confirmed that on Tuesday, Oct 31, the PA for the first time fired anti-tank missiles at IDF forces. The anti-tank missiles were unleashed in Gaza. The PA has already used anti-aircraft missiles against IDF helicopter gun ships. These weapons are prohibited by the Oslo Accords.

3. Important Note: Please, please make a contribution to the USS Cole Relief Fund of the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society, JINSA Advisory Board Member Adm. Jerry Johnson, USN (ret.) is the president. Many of the families of the dead and injured sailors of the Cole are in need of assistance, and the Relief Society will help them in a variety of ways. It is also important to show that we appreciate the sacrifice those American service personnel and their families have made for our freedom.
