IDF BG Yoram Knafo

IDF BG Yoram Knafo has been a Visiting Fellow at JINSA since January 2025.

Before joining JINSA, BG Knafo served as Chief of Staff of the IDF’s Personnel Directorate from 2021-2024, and as Chief of Staff of the IDF’s Northern Command, responsible for protecting Israel’s borders with Lebanon and Syria, from 2019-2021. BG Knafo’s distinguished military service also includes previous assignments as Commander of the 282nd Artillery Brigade, Head of Organization and Personnel in the Planning Directorate, and Head of the Artillery Doctrine Department.

BG Knafo is a graduate of Reichman University and holds advanced degrees in security studies and law, respectively, from Hebrew University of Jerusalem and Tel Aviv University.
