Ricardo Weitz
Mr. Weitz was born in Mexico City, Mexico in 1948. He graduated from the Ibero-American University in Mexico City, Mexico in 1969 with a degree in Business Administration.Mr. Weitz married Martine Weitz in 1982.
During the years of 1969 to 1979, Mr. Weitz was president of a family-owned corporation in the textile manufacturing industry and also formed a corporation dedicated to the development and construction of large residential communities in Mexico City, Mexico.
Mr. Weitz was appointed Director of the Board of Banco BCH, the fifth largest private bank in Mexico in 1979. He served in that capacity until Mexico nationalized all private banks in 1982. He relocated to Houston, Texas in 1990.
After a very successful start, momentum grew with the acquisition of several other luxury auto dealerships in Houston. A second luxury automotive brand was created under the Advantage name and with the same outstanding results. Audi, BMW, Jaguar, Land Rover, Porsche, Volvo, and Volkswagen were among the brands represented. Fourteen years after the acquisition of the first auto dealership, the Momentum and Advantage dealerships were sold in one transaction to a National automotive public company in 2004.
Mr. Weitz became a Member of the Board of Banco del Bajio, a large private bank in Central Mexico in 2002.
While growing the auto dealership business, Mr. Weitz partnered with highly successful real estate ventures to acquire land and develop residential and commercial project all around the city of Houston. These ventures have been responsible for the development of more than 30 residential projects, apartment complexes, and many other retail and commercial centers. Currently, there are about 18 active successful real estate projects.
Other investments include ownership in auto dealerships in Mexico. Mr. Weitz actively participates in the operation of 13 auto dealerships in several locations throughout Mexico since 2004, representing brands like Toyota, BMW, Land Rover, Honda and Nissan.
Mr. Weitz purchased two Nissan dealerships in the Houston metropolitan area in 2013 and a Cadillac dealership in 2014 and is still actively involved in the management and operation of these businesses.
