Tom Neumann
Thomas (Tom) Neumann is the Executive Director Emeritus of the Jewish Institute for National Security Affairs (JINSA). During his tenure, Mr. Neumann has helped JINSA become one of the fastest growing Jewish organizations in the country boasting a membership of over 20,000. JINSA is also a leading think-tank in defense policy and national security with a voice respected throughout Washington, from Congress to the Pentagon.

As Executive Director, Mr. Neumann has led numerous delegations of political, corporate, and community leaders on trips to Israel, Turkey, India, China, Spain, NATO Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe (SHAPE), Ethiopia and Uzbekistan.
Prior to JINSA, Mr. Neumann was the Executive Vice President of B’nai B’rith International. While at B’nai B’rith, he expanded activities to the USSR and Eastern Europe, creating a presence for that organization in that part of the world for the first time since before World War II. Mr. Neumann served as the National Director of the Intergroup Relations Division for the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) from 1986-88. Prior to that, he served the agency as the National Director of Community Services from August 1, 1985, having previously been the agency’s Southwest Regional Director, responsible for the entire span of ADL activity in Southern Texas.
Articles written by Mr. Neumann have been published by White House Weekly, Salon.com, Knight-Ridder syndication and The Washington Times and other notable newspapers. Mr. Neumann has been a regular book reviewer for The Houston Chronicle. He also wrote periodic op-ed columns for The Houston Post and The Jewish Herald-Voice. He has made appearances on MSNBC and local news and information forums in Dallas, TX, as well a radio appearences on CBS News Radio and various nationally syndicated news programs. Mr. Neumann has been quoted by CBS News, Fox News, The Jerusalem Post, The Guardian (UK), Cybercast News Service, Turkish Daily News, and the Associated Press, amongst others.
Voted the “6th Most Influential Jewish Leader” by The Forward in 1999, Tom Neumann is a distinguished speaker and has addressed audiences on Capitol Hill, university faculties, religious and social organizations, and public and private schools on issues of national security and related concerns. He has also consulted for and advised many major national and local political candidates on national security issues and Jewish issues.
Mr. Neumann is the founder and creator of several organizations, including The Houston Center for International Affairs (a business forum on international and economic issues), the Christian/Jewish Committee for Israel (a coalition of inter-denominational clergy who support Israel), and Texas 1990 (an organization which represents a cross section of young and influential Texans).
