WASHINGTON – President Barack Obama has demonstrated courage, wisdom and moral leadership in his decision not to participate in the upcoming United Nations “World Conference Against Racism,” declared the Jewish Institute for National Security Affairs (JINSA). The conference, to be held in Geneva April 20-25, is a follow up to the conference held in Durban, South Africa eight years ago.

“The first Durban conference was so vile in its anti-Semitism that the U.S. representatives walked out in protest,” noted Tom Neumann, executive director of JINSA. “The follow up conference is expected to be no different. It is unfortunate that countries such as Iran and Syria hijacked for their own political purposes a conference that otherwise may have dealt honestly with a very important issue.”

The United States joins Israel and Canada in boycotting the upcoming conference. It is anticipated that several European states will follow suit.
