Iran’s regime is trying to escalate its way out of the war. While U.S.-Israeli operations degrade its military capabilities, Tehran is broadening the conflict and raising its economic costs by attacking commercial shipping, mining the Arabian Gulf, and targeting vital Middle East energy infrastructure. It also is opening an additional front against Israel by unleashing Hezbollah attacks from Lebanon.
