Conference Call:
Is “America Back” or Just Backing Away?
How U.S. Partners Perceive the U.S. Withdrawal From Afghanistan
How U.S. Partners Perceive the U.S. Withdrawal From Afghanistan
Not unlike past military withdrawals from Vietnam, Lebanon, and Iraq, the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan promises to be a seminal moment in American
foreign policy, with potentially far-ranging implications. Among the most important could be the impact on other states that rely heavily on the credibility of
U.S. global power for their own deterrence and defense.
Please join Maj. Gen. (ret.) Yaakov Amidror, Israel’s former national security advisor and JINSA distinguished fellow; Dr. I-Chung Lai, president of Taiwan’s
Prospect Foundation; and Dr. Nawaf Obaid, former consultant to the Saudi Royal Court for a discussion of how some of Washington’s closest partners are
viewing the Afghan withdrawal and its possible implications for their countries and the world.
The conversation will be moderated by JINSA Senior Fellow John Hannah.
