Israeli Air Force Leader Addresses JINSA Members

Brig. Gen. Johanan Locker, commander of the Israeli Air Force’s Air Division, met with a small group composed of JINSA leadership and participants in JINSA’s annual trip to Israel for retired U.S. Generals and Admirals on November 12.
During the private conversation, Locker discussed the range of threats facing Israel, including the increasingly close military relationship between Syria and Hezbollah, the improvement of Hamas’ rocket capabilities and the continuation of arms smuggling into Gaza from Egypt. Special attention was devoted to the implications for the region of a nuclear Iran.
Locker was appointed to his current position in November 2005. As the Head of the Air Division, he is responsible for numerous IAF departments including those of Operations, Instruction, Central Control, Field Security, and Special Operations. Qualified on numerous fixed and rotary-winged aircraft, Locker commanded an F-4 Phantom squadron from 1991-1994.
